Just a 'what if' I thought of whilst cruising the Watchmen ficmeme... There was a prompt about how the story would've been different if Nite Owl had investigated the Roche case and another one asking what could've been even worse than teddy bear undies for Rorschach to find in the furnace. I say finding his partner's charred goggles would definitely be worse.
It also occurred to me that there's no way Grice could've killed Nite Owl. Unless the sight of the dogs fighting over the bones gave him enough of a breakdown that Grice could sneak up with a cleaver or something... Still, as unlikely as it is, it would still be a worse case scenario.
Tablet drawing with my own goggles as reference and pictures of campfire ashes for a background.
I'm. Tempted to try to write something to this, because while I think you're right that he couldn't have killed him, this could still be just. Gah. Because that's absolutely the assumption Ror would make, whether it ends up being true or not.
I can't make any guarantees - got a bunch of crap in the works right now - but usually once images/ideas/prompts/whatever get in my head, they don't leave me be. I would just need to figure out exactly what did happen, first. D: Poor Dan. Poor Ror. RUN WHILE YOU CAN, BOYS.
I think one of the reasons I started reading the NO/R stuff is because I was so anxious for them to have some kind of happy ending. And yet... pain-candy! I love it so.

They're so *tricky*. Because you can't make 'em too happy or it ends up ringing false. Bittersweet's usually the best you can do, which is still so much better than esplode in sno. D:

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

Great job, mixing media this way kinda reminds me of Dave McKean.
