Doors to Nowhere by hermitchild Doors to Nowhere by hermitchild
The town is dying.

This used to be the elementary school. When there wasn't enough children to keep it open, they closed it up and let it rot.

The roof fell in and the nearest wall collapsed. Instead of tearing it down, they just bulldoze the debris back into the lot if it falls into the street.

The doors still swing. When they're open you can see stairways and storage closets and empty classrooms.

There are still people living in town, but with no children and no new families, it's crumbling as fast as the old school.

No. And Dad tells me it was part of the coal company store.

Maybe?? I have no idea, really. All I know is that in the games, Silent Hill is some old coal mining town that got abandoned because of underground peat fires they couldn't put out.

That actually happened once. They blamed it on a lightning strike, I think.
